We have been contacted and reached out to many different artists from a variety of genres. We believe that talented artists should be rewarded for their hard work so our team will continue to post articles on many different artists to give you the inside scoop on what is going on in the music industry!
This week we had the opportunity to learn more about Leo Sky, an up and coming rapper out of Baltimore City. Growing up, Leo had a great passion for music, listening to artists such as Danger Doom, Danger Mouse, Tech N9ne, Prince and Michael Jackson. Leo got involved with music early on in his life playing the clarinet in 3rd grade and learning to play the piano in 12th grade. Leo began to rap when he was only eight years old and has turned his passion and talent into a major hobby.
While Leo’s career is fairly young, he has already accomplished a lot within the rap industry. He released his first mixtape J.A.V., which can be downloaded for free on his Bandcamp page linked below. Leo has been hard at work in recent months on his biggest project yet, which was just released this month! Leo dropped his first EP titled “Leoism” on March 11, 2014, which he thinks his fans will really enjoy. “My EP is being uploaded to all of the major online retailers like Amazon and iTunes, but if you go to my Bandcamp page, it will always be free. So spread the word, free music for the masses,” Leo said. “As for my career, I just want to make music and have people listen to it. If I had 1,000 listeners, I would be content with that,” he added.
Leo’s favorite song to play for his fans is “Outex”, the final song off of his new EP. “It’s personal and random. It’s the perfect song for fans to listen to if they are trying to figure me out,” Leo said. When he’s not making music, Leo still keeps busy as he is currently writing a book and a sitcom, but rapping is always on his mind. “Rapping allows me to express myself in a creative and destructive environment. I can spill my guts and people can relate to the same situations,” Leo said. As for the future, Leo hopes to continue making music, to perform at shows and meet his fans. “If this doesn’t work out, there is always medical school or the FDA,” Leo said.
Here at TapSongz, we encourage all of our viewers to give Leo’s latest EP “Leoism” a listen on his SoundCloud page and remember to download it for free on his Bandcamp page linked below! Be sure to follow Leo on SoundCloud and Twitter to keep up-to-date with his latest projects as he continues to work on his unique alternative rap sound!
