It's the only Chicago festival truly on a beach. Having only started a couple years ago, Mamby on the Beach has become a household name to music fans not only throughout the Midwest, but across the country. This year's event didn't disappoint as fans packed through the gates to enter the festival during a weekend of perfect warm weather. With three main stages, festival goers experienced music across all genres. EDM fans packed into the tent stage on the sand, where big acts including Tchami, Sam Feldt, and Green Velvet.
Sam Feldt's act in particular blew expectations away, with live saxaphone being the perfect combination to a warm summer day in the sand. Playing hit track "Been a While" pumped up fans as the set was full of energy and positive vibes.
Saturday night was no disappointment as it was a tough decision whether to attend popular Alternative band MGMT or see rising DJ Tchami, who has made many appearances in Chicago over the past year. Both acts stunned the crowd as Tchami had an amazing light show that glistened throughout the dark MixMag tent. MGMT wowed the crowd with hit after hit performing both classics and new material including "Congratulations", "Electric Feel" and fan favorite "Kids". The performance was outstanding and a perfect way to end the night

The fun on Sunday continued with awesome sets from Klingande, Cut Copy, Flying Lotus and, of course, Walk The Moon. Klingande had appeared in Mamby's inaugural lineup in 2015 and his set certainly exceeded expectations this year. His classic "Jubel" is an incredible track live and there isn't a better scene for it than on the beach. Walk The Moon was everything you could ask for in a headliner, ending the weekend on a perfect note as fireworks hit the sky.
What started off as a relatively small festival only a couple of years ago has turned into something much bigger. With yoga classes, a silent DJ tent, and VIP access to the lake, there really isn't much more you could ask for at a music festival.
