Braden Barrie, an acoustic singer and songwriter continues to impress his fans with his newest album, “Between the Roses.” Even his stage name, SayWeCanFly illustrates his ambition in connecting with fans and telling them his story, including his past, his struggles, and his hopes for the future.
Starting his music career in Ontario, Canada, Braden noticed he had something different and special to offer while opening for many pop punk and hardcore bands. When he was fourteen, he started a YouTube channel to share his music and in no time he began performing live, increasing his fans each day. Braden expresses the importance of the role his fans play in his career and life: “I spend hours everyday on social media talking to people. Apart from making music, it is the most important thing to me. I always want to make sure everyone feels like a part of what I’m doing and that I bring them along for my journey and have conversations with them every day.”
When it comes to his new album, Between the Roses, available on Youtube, iTunes, and Soundcloud, he says, “I’m really just hoping that people connect with the album more than anything I’ve ever written. I want people to experience that piece of my life and I hope it might help them in some way.” He, and many of his fans, agree that lyrically, his new album is his best yet, with one of his songs “Song of the Sparrow” actually reflecting on his own issues with depression in the past. Clearly, SayWeCanFly finds his music career to be a shared experience between him and his fans, which is amazing because selflessness can sometimes be hard to find in the music industry.
Braden hopes to continue making music in 2015. “One of my biggest goals is to play as many shows and meet as many lovely people who support me as possible. I am so blessed to feel so much love towards SayWeCanFly and I want to be able to thank those people from a stage.” Be sure to follow SayWeCanFly on his social media sites below if you want to become yet another one of his trusted and valued fans!
