Serpent Wraith is an outstanding up and coming artist originally from Brooklyn, New York. Our TapSongz Team recently had the opportunity to interview the rising artist to learn more about his background, career and goals. He lived in New York until he was 21 and currently lives in Japan. Growing up he listened to all sorts of music. "My parents loved old middle eastern folk music. They also liked pop and some rock," Serpent Wraith recalled. "The middle eastern stuff stayed with me though. I like the sound of guitar and drums. That led to Pantera, Metallica, and Testament."
The cool thing about Serpent Wraith is that he pretty much learned everything on his own with friends, without really taking any formal music lessons. He just reached a large milestone by releasing a brand new metal album! "I set out to make a blackend melodic death thrash metal with folk elements album," Serpent Wraith told our TapSongz Team. The album has a very unique sound and we love what the rising artist was able to accomplish with this eight track project. "This project would have failed horribly if not for my audio engineer Gerard Wareham. The guy is a serious pro," Serpent Wraith said.
The young artist wrote and played everything in his apartment, besides the drums, where he used EZDrummer. "I think my favorite track is 'What Must Be Done'. The song was formed in my mind before I even wrote out the music. I think it was the easiest one to write because of that." The album as a whole turned out extremely well and we encourage you to give it a listen on BandCamp or YouTube! It took Serpent Wraith slightly under a year to complete the album, as he dedicated the majority of his time on the project.
As for the rest of 2016, Serpent Wraith is looking to begin some serious writing for his next album within the next couple of months. Definitely support the up and coming artist by giving his new album a listen! Toss him a follow on Twitter to stay up to date with his latest releases! We are already excited for his next project and love the progression that his sound has showed. Here at TapSongz, we thank you for reading this feature article as we continue finding tomorrow's greatest music today!
