Soundset 2014 Sells Out With Big Time Lineup

5/23/2014

There is not a better way to kick off summer than to head to Shakopee for the annual SoundSet Music Festival. The event will be all day long on Sunday May 25, bringing in a sold out crowd of 30,000 fans. This year was the first year in the event's seven-year history that tickets sold out.

The event first began in the Metrodome parking lot, but since then has grown in popularity. It was moved in 2009 to Canterbury Park, a very spacious field in Shakopee. Since then, attendance has been on the rise as SoundSet has grown to become one of the top hip-hop events in the nation. Last year's big headliner was Snoop Dogg, but this year's lineup consisted of a great amount of depth, proving to be extremely popular for concert goers.

Using a combination of main staple names from the area along with new, up and comers in the industry, the lineup fell nothing short of expectations. SoundSet 2014 is comprised of a stellar lineup including hip-hop artists Wiz Khalifa, Nas, 2-Chainz, Chance The Rapper, and Atmosphere. Other notable artists include on-the-rise rapper G-Eazy, Cypress Hill, Tyler The Creator & Early Sweatshirt, and Ab-Soul. With over 30 artists performing throughout the day and the weather set for sunshine and mid-70's, this year's SoundSet is bound for success.
