It's the lineup of perfect Hip-Hop balance. SoundSet's 2015 roster is exactly what festival-goers were hoping for as rap fans throughout the midwest prepare to funnel through the fields of Shakopeee, Minnesota, for a full day of concerts on Sunday. The festival that first began in 2008 by Rhymesayers Entertainment has grown into something special and become an end of May tradition in the land of 10,000 lakes.
As expected, Atmosphere will be putting on the festival and closing out the night in a field that is expected to be packed by 30,000. But what fans may not have expected was such a diverse lineup of rappers. The lineup didn't lack a sense of throwback, with both Ludacris and Ice Cube preparing to make way into festival grounds on Sunday. However, plenty of young talent will be making an appearance as well. J. Cole, who recently won rap album of the year for his latest project "Forrest Hills Drive" will be headlining the festival. And Chicago native Vic Mensa, possibly the hottest up and comer in the industry, looks to dazzle fans with his latest releases including multiple collaborations with Kanye West. Big Sean also headlines the festival, before taking his tour abroad to Warsaw, Prague, Munich and Berlin in June. The lineup depth is completed with acts including Yelawolf, Brother Ali, Vince Staples, Hopsin and the popular Logic.
Gates will open Sunday at 11:00am sharp and General tickets are still available on the SoundSet website linked below.
