The Neighbourhood rocked a sizable crowd for back to back nights at the 9:30 Club in Washington, DC.
The group started with the high-energy trio of WDYWFM, Let It Go and Wires before introducing the song Prey from their new album “Wiped Out”, which is coming at the end of October. The rest of the set included crowd favorites Baby Came Home and RIP as well as hits Afraid, Female Robbery and Sweater Weather.

Midway through the show the band came to a song written on the set list as *Mixtape* that proved to be outstanding. As the song wound down, the members of the band left the stage one by one until only the drummer and bassist were left; after a drum solo climax, both musicians left the stage as an electronic background began to play. After a few moments vocalist Jesse Rutherford took the stage alone and sang freestyle. He also included the group’s track #Canteven. The breakdown was crazy cool – even when the band was back on the stage the crowd was still mystified.
The group’s black and white theme was obvious in the outfits of the members as well as most of the lights and images on the screens around the stage. The performance really drew attention to the members’ raw talent and creativity – it definitely foreshadowed a shift to a more electric, rather than classic, sound.
