It is supposed to be a beautiful weekend in Chicago as the summer of 2016 has officially come to a close. While it has been an amazing festival season, it is not quite done yet. AAHHFEST! Is being held this weekend in Union Park in the heart of Chicago. The festival is being put on once again by academy award-winning artist Common, with the purpose of raising awareness of the continued violence facing Chicago youth and creating a weekend of hope and inspiration. Funding from the festival supports year-round programming for both the Common Ground Foundation and Donda’s House. Both organizations infuse creative arts into their mission to offer positive encouragement to youth and provide safe outlets.
The festival grounds are sure to be packed for the good cause with the help of a top-notch lineup. The Roots, Vic Mensa and Jeremih were all listed as acts for this weekend. Exciting news hit this past week when it was announced that Hip-Hop hardhitter J Cole and throwback performer Ice Cube will also be making their way to Chicago for the weekend.
Our TapSongz Team loves the Hip-Hop heavy lineup mixed in with some R&B acts. Vic Mensa has been one of the hottest performers in the industry after releasing his brand new EP “There’s a lot Going On”. J Cole put on an outstanding show only a couple of months back at Grant Park in Chicago for Lollapalooza. It is exciting to see him back in a Chicago lineup so soon. AHHFEST! has been a huge success in the past and we look forward to another memorable event. Tickets can be purchased at their website below to support the cause! Let the festival season continue into Fall this weekend in Chicago. See you all there!
