Last night, I knew I was witnessing a real electronic dance music concert while watching Adventure Club perform. The audience was an eclectic sea of quirk: all concert-goers dressed up in rad outfits, flower children sported sparkles on their faces, and Steve Aoki wannabes rocked their ponytails and topknots. The guy next to me was flipping his hair up and down so hard that I had to move for my own safety.
The crowd was full of teenagers and older listeners still in the midst of their EDM phase. This concert truly felt different from all the rest that I've been to: instead of just individually enjoying the live music, people were huddled in groups and dancing with each other, some of whom strangers. Adventure Club surely produced some dance music tonight.
The duo played remixes of recent top hits, as well as original songs. The audience was energized by the songs' intense beat drops and typical, hardcore dubstep frames. Everyone in the huge venue was so in the zone, the Adventure Club zone. And the light show in the background only helped make it all the more captivating. Check out Adventure Club on the rest of the duo's tour!
