There may not be a better singer to accompany new EDM tracks. Alina Renae’s smooth voice is starting to receive more attention and for a good reason. Originally from the Northwest suburbs of Chicago, Renae grew up listening to Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera, admiring both of their voices and how challenging their songs were. From the very beginning, Alina’s voice was her natural gift and did not need much honing. “I actually never sang or took lessons until after high school. Dance was always my main thing. And even then, I only had a voice teacher for a year in college,” Renae said.
Renae went to school for Digital Production, something that helps set her apart and opens doors for more collaborations. “The producers I work with send me the instrumental, I write the lyrics, record, edit, master my vocals, and send back my finished product. This makes it easy to work with producers all over the world,” she added. One of Alina’s hottest tracks was released only two months ago, a collaboration with Milk N Cookies in the song “Monster”. “When I first heard the track I was thrown off! The drop was not what I expected and it was so different and just funky, which is why it is such an awesome track,” Alina said. “My goal was to try to fit the tone of the track and create a lyric that would compliment the drop. The track just said ‘monster’ to me, big sound and very unpredictable.” Be sure to give “Monster” a listen at the bottom of the page.
Alina Renae has become a driving force in the EDM industry as a strong female vocalist to supplement heavy trap drops or laidback melodic house music. There is one particular song that remains a favorite to the rising singer. “I love ‘fly’ with Protohype. I wrote the lyric when I was getting over a very rough time in my life. So not only did it resemble a new beginning in my personal life, the success of the song paved a path for me in the dance music world,” Alina recalled.
Plenty of goals have been set for 2015, as Renae looks to keep busy with the growing popularity of EDM. “I want to say I have about 15 features releasing this year just of my work from the past six months. So what I’m working on now will add to that…so stay tuned!” Be sure to follow Alina Renae on social media in the links provided below and keep an eye out for her new releases in the coming months.
