The Chainsmokers put on an outstanding show last night at Liquid in Madison, Wisconsin. The sold out show didn’t disappoint as EDM fans packed into the venue on a Sunday night.
The evening began with Louis the Child, one of the top up and coming duos in the business. Their popularity sparked weeks ago after their track “It’s Strange” featuring K.Flay blew up. Taylor Swift even took notice to the tune putting it on her list of top songs to listen to. The duo has a sound that fades in and out leading up to drops, being very similar to Flume. Shaun Frank took the stage for the next hour before Tropical House producer Matoma continued the positive vibes.

Matoma’s set featured a variety of tracks including his popular remixes as well as covering other DJ’s hit tracks. He got the crowd going with Avicii’s “Wake Me Up” and GTA & Martin Solveig’s “Intoxicated”. Fans swayed back and forth to Matoma’s tropical remix of Will Smith’s “Miami”. The performance ended with Matoma’s most popular track “Old Thing Back”, a tune that has accrued nearly 15 million plays on SoundCloud. Matoma had performed this past year at Liquid and it is clear that fans looked forward to another stellar performance.
The Chainsmokers took the stage at roughly 12:15 and performed until nearly 2:00am. The duo comprised of Drew Taggart and Alex Pall came onto the stage and immediately began yelling "Eat Sh*t, F*ck You", a popular chant on Wisconsin-Madison's campus. Our TapSongz Team had already seen The Chainsmokers perform three times prior, including Lollapalooza this past summer. Yet their energy, build ups and drops continue to surprise listeners. You can tell the duo out of NYU truly care about their shows and fans love it. The show featured plenty of confetti and smoke machines in addition to a crazy light show.
The best part about The Chainsmokers performance was that they were able to mix things up. They obviously played their hits including Waterbed, Let You Go, Selfie, and Kanye. But they also threw in some curveballs for fans playing Flux Pavilion's ever popular "Gold Dust". They also rocked out to their popular track with Tiesto "Split" that was mashed together with Tove Lo's "Talking Body", a big time hit with the crowd. Midway through the show the duo broke into their hit track "Roses", sending fans into a frenzy.
It has been cool to see The Chainsmokers transform over the past year. It started with a simple catchy tune "Selfie" that sprung them into the spotlight. But they have continued to surprise fans track after track with catchy beats, fun features and big drops.
If The Chainsmokers are touring near you be sure to attend. You will not be disappointed.
