This week we had the opportunity to interview Evan Michelle, a talented teen breakout pop and R&B artist from Dallas, Texas! Despite being only 15 years old, Evan has already made strides in the music industry and looks to push her talents further. Coming from a musical family, she began performing publically at the age of six! Evan Michelle’s music style is inspired by Beyoncé, JoJo, and Aaliyah, yet she is able to create a unique sound of her own, crossing over pop and R&B creating a similar vibe to that of Brandy Norwood.
In our exclusive TapSongz interview, we were able to get the whole story behind Evan’s brand new EP and her goals for the future. With a passion for music at such an early age, it was clear from the beginning that she had a gift. “I began playing musical instruments when I was three years old when I began playing piano. A few years later I expanded my repertoire to include the violin,” Evan said. She has been hard at work in recent months and recently released her debut EP “Heiress” on January 28th. The EP is available for download on iTunes, Amazon MP3, and Google Play so we encourage all of our viewers to check it out! It can also be streamed on Spotify and iHeartRadio. “Heiress” includes five original songs, all penned by Evan. “I began writing poetry at an early age, which as served me well in making the transition to professional songwriting,” Evan said.
The debut album was a huge accomplishment for Evan, but she has big plans for the future and is willing to put in the work to get there. In the near-term, her goal is to land a major label deal. In the future, Evan Michelle plans to develop a global brand based on her accomplishments in her entertainment endeavors. While things can get busy for the young artist, she has enjoyed every step of the way. “I love interacting with the audience and bringing my energetic personality to the stage. It has always been a place where I feel most comfortable,” Evan said. She told our TapSongz team that her favorite city to perform is her hometown in Dallas because seeing familiar faces in the audience is inspiring.
Aside from her music career, Evan is an accomplished fashion and runway model and is signed by Page Parkes Management based in Houston, Texas. In her free time, she enjoys reading, traveling, and spending time with her friends.
