Here at TapSongz, we have had the great opportunity to connect with artists from many different genres to share their stories and give our viewers an insight on their latest projects! We hope you have enjoyed our write-ups as we continue to grow as a major media outlet in the music industry.
This week our TapSongz Team had the chance to interview Filous, a very talented electronic musician from Vienna, Austria. The 17-year-old artist has already started to gain a large following, despite having such a young career. Growing up, Filous listened to a lot of rock, including AC/DC, Metallica, Van Halen and Led Zeppelin. He then began listening to electronic music, which ultimately led him to begin producing. At a young age, Filous played a variety of instruments including bass, guitar, harmonica, accordion, harp, and piano. “Musical everyday doings really started growing on me and became a big part of my life. Learning instruments became an addiction of mine,” Filous said.
Years down the road, Filous has focused heavily on the production side of music and has really enjoyed it. “I wouldn’t consider myself as a DJ, but truly more a musical inspired electronic musician/producer. I’m just starting to learn how to DJ in order to perform live without having to buy a truckload of equipment, but I do enjoy DJing and am looking forward to it,” Filous told our TapSongz Team. He released his first remix “Able” six months ago and since then has really began to enjoy remixing.
While Filous only began producing music in the past year, he already likes what he sees in the industry. “My experience to date is everybody seems to be very friendly and outgoing in the music industry sector that I have been invited to grow into. It feels like a big family and I really like it,” Filous said. He released a remix to Kodaline’s “High Hopes” which has already gained over 750,000 SoundCloud plays in only three months and recently hit one million views on YouTube! Filous also just dropped a deep house cover to Calvin Harris’ “Summer”, which has nearly 250,000 plays in only one month.
Filous has already gained a strong following in the industry and has plenty of projects in the works. “Most of my tracks I put online so far were free downloads because I like the idea of giving everyone the opportunity to listen to my tracks via their phones or mp3 players, but official releases are all in the pipeline,” Filous said.
Filous looks forward to performing his tracks on tour in the future and feeling the connection between the crowd and the music. With only a handful of releases so far in his career, there is a great amount of opportunity for him to grow his fanbase and connections within the industry. At the end of our interview, Filous had some quick words for our viewers: “I just want to thank you for all of the great feedback I’ve received during the last months and hope that there will be more stuff to come that you can all enjoy! Thank you for all of the support!” We encourage all of our viewers to follow Filous on his SoundCloud and Facebook to keep an eye out for his releases in the future! Here at TapSongz, we thank you for reading this feature article as we continue finding tomorrow’s greatest music today!
