We are almost to mid 2019 and there has been plenty of awesome new music released throughout the first couple of months of the year. It is so fun to see new artists emerge in different genres. Our team recently came across Gideons Mob, a talented progressive rock band. Brian Urso, the lead guitarist for the band out of Pittsburgh, PA, clearly puts his heart and soul into the music. We had the opportunity to dig deeper into Gideons Mob's music and listen to the new album !
The track that really caught our attention was "Taming of the Shrew", an unmixed demo uploaded to SoundCloud. The song starts off slow and steady before breaking into a catchy drumming beat and an easy to listen to echo-y set of vocals. We loved the laidback tune and really is what progressive rock stands for. Our TapSongz Team also loved "Startled", one of the earlier success songs for the band. The guitar is such a distinguished sound and we loved the solo midway through the song. If there is one thing we learned after giving Gideons Mob a deep listen is that the band is so easy to listen to and their rock sound is refreshing.
The new album, self-titled "Gideons Mob" consists of seven tracks and can be purchased on all major platforms including iTunes. We particularly liked "Motherbox" a chill track that is seven minutes long and the perfect tune to kickoff the album. Our TapSongz Team also loved "The Daemon is Wild", which features catchy buildups and amazing vocals. The band plays so well together and it is clear in the new album.
We encourage all of our viewers to give Gideons Mob a listen on iTunes, Spotify, SoundCloud, Bandcamp, and CDBaby! Toss the band a follow on Twitter below to stay updated with their new releases. Big things are ahead for the Pennsylvania band and we are excited to see where the rest of 2019 takes them. Here at TapSongz, we thank you for reading this feature article as we continue finding tomorrow's greatest music today!
