2020 is off to a big start with plenty of star artists dropping new music. The new year should be great for a lot of up and coming artists as well who have strong breakout potential. Our TapSongz Team recently came across Jae Remi and believe he fits the bill as an excellent rising talent with a ton of potential. We had the chance to interview Jae to learn more about his past, latest releases and plans for the new year!
Jae Remi is born and raised in Toronto and has moved around a lot growing up. At an early age Jae was very interested in music and loved writing and creating new tunes. "I started writing down all of the verses that got stuck in my head around the time I started transitioning into high school. My second year of college was when I really started to pursue my music. Remi told our TapSongz Team. "Growing up I loved listening to Kanye, Kid Cudi, Nas, J Cole, Joey Badass and King Los" he added. These inspirations have helped to develop Jae into the artist that he has become today.
Fast forward to today and Jae just released a brand new project "The Narrative". The artist walks us through the process in creating such an amazing collection of songs. First step is hitting up Soul supplier for a beat. "Due to the space I was in I had asked for something dark." Second is the writing process. "Writing both verses was lite but I sat on the hooks for a while due to all the ideas I had bouncing around in my head. Once recorded (3/4/5) I send them off to Tone for the visuals, go through the write ups with Freddy, and then uploaded my music through Distrokid," he added.
As far as 2020, Remi has a lot of breakouot potential. "I'd like to provide quality content as I build my fan base and work on my vault," he said. "I want to release another project, I already have something in mind, right now it's just a matter of piecing everything together," Jae added. We can't wait for another new project and are excited to give it a listen once released!
