Here at TapSongz, our team has had an excellent experience writing feature articles on up and coming talent from a variety of genres and we hope you have enjoyed reading them! We have been contacted by many artists and will continue to post feature articles on some of these aspiring artists who have the most potential and will become household names in the future.
For the Rapper of the Month for March, we had the honor to interview an up and coming rapper out of Bloomington, Illinois, who has some serious potential going forward. Futuristic, currently based out of Arizona, is taking the rap game by storm, especially after dropping his most recent single “I Guess I’ll Smoke.” Our team at TapSongz had the opportunity to dig deeper into the rapper’s career in an exclusive interview with the young artist.
Futuristic told our TapSongz team that he has always had a passion for music, especially at an early age. “I rapped with my older brothers when I was a kid. I looked up to Busta Rhymes, Ludacris, and Will Smith back in the day,” he said. Futuristic has always written his own music, ever since he started rapping when he was six years old.
After years of hard work and effort, Futuristic has been able to push his dreams into a reality. His first major project titled “Dream Big” hit stores in February of 2012 and propelled him into the rap industry, where fans began to see the true talent and potential that Futuristic holds. “I Got Sauce” and “La La La” were two tracks from the album that our TapSongz team enjoyed and we encourage you to check them out! But since his big album drop two years ago, the hard work and dedication has not fallen out. Futuristic followed up the album with “Chasing Down a Dream”, released in February of 2013. The album tells a story about his life and inspires true feelings of happiness, sadness and laughter. He uses such emotional and deep writing mixed with humorous punch lines, making this album the real deal.
In recent months, Futuristic has been working on a new project and touring across the United States. He dropped his latest single “I Guess I’ll Smoke”, which has already gained great publicity in the past month and shows huge potential of becoming a well-known song in the industry. Consisting of a dope beat and great lyrics, “I Guess I’ll Smoke” already has over 100,000 views in less than a month.
Futuristic’s current tour “No Time for Bulls#!t” began February 15 and he has been visiting a variety of venues across the nation with artists including Lazie Bone, Dizzy Wright, and Hopsin. “I love touring in different places and seeing all my fans. I don’t know why, but Boise, Idaho is always crazy. They turn up out there,” Futuristic said. “I always love going to Portland, Denver, Seattle and Arizona too,” he noted. Futuristic’s tour recently stopped around several venues in the Midwest and his next concerts are in Louisiana and Texas to end the tour. Futuristic told our TapSongz team that his favorite track to play live is “Listen to me”, the only slow song his does right now. “I love rapping. It keeps me sane. It’s all I know how to do. I’ve always wanted to rap and express my feelings,” Futuristic said.
Futuristic has loved touring, meeting fellow artists and fans and the excitement in his career is only beginning. “I’ve met a lot of cool people on tour. The coolest person I’ve met is probably Wiz Khalifa. We did a house party together in Arizona after a show and he wasn’t cocky at all and was really down to earth,” Futuristic said. We encourage all of our viewers to check out Futuristic on Twitter, Facebook and his website at the links below as well as some of his hit songs on SoundCloud! Here at TapSongz, we thank you for reading as we continue finding tomorrow’s greatest music today!
