The show was exactly what fans were hoping for. The concert featured everything ranging from guitar solos, high-energy up-tempo beats and soft singing during a dead silent arena filled with 10,000 people. Die hard fans lined up at the Alliant Energy Center hours before the sold-out show to obtain front row seats. The arena was filled on a first-come first-serve basis, without any assigned seating. Fans funneled into the venue just blocks away from downtown Madison and the capitol, with high hopes of witnessing an amazing show.

The majority of the concert was filled with Mumford and Sons' latest album "Wilder Mind". The band did an excellent job of mixing up the tempo of the concert, transitioning from old songs to new and fast songs to slow. Mumford started their show in a lively fashion, playing new tunes "Snake Eyes" and "Believe"! They also played hit tracks from their new album including "Tompkins Square Park", "Hot Gates", and "Ditmas". Midway through their performance, the band broke into their classics "The Cave" and "Little Lion Man". Fans freaked out and a whole new level of energy hit the stadium as Mumford & Sons rocked out to their first hits. The four main members of the band then ran off stage and sprinted to the back of the stadium where they hopped up onto a smaller stage.

They were illuminated with white beams of light that shot up from underneath them. Fans anxiously awaited to hear them perform, shushing fellow fans to hear the band's soft playing. The band members performed "Reminder" and "Sister", two incredible acoustic songs that had the audience in shock. The moment was magical.

The remainder of the concert went to perfection. Blaring colors of red and blue sparked the backdrop as the band continued to perform using drums, banjo, bass, electric guitar, bass guitar and synthesizer. Two big screens were on each side of the stage, where you could see the sweat and heart of Marcus Mumford's voice go into every lyric. The lead singer even took off his guitar and sprinted up the lower level section, hopping up to the second level and running around the entire stadium, giving fans high fives as he belted out lyrics.

Mumford and Sons has had a busy tour, performing in Minneapolis at the Excel Energy Center the previous night. After their breathtaking Madison show, the band went to Indianapolis to cap off their North American tour. In early May they will be performing in Finland, Norway, Denmark, Germany, France and other portions of Europe.
I highly encourage you to find a way to see Mumford and Sons perform live if you haven't already. Check out the bands Facebook page for more details on their upcoming tour. Here at TapSongz, we thank you for reading this feature article as we continue finding tomorrow's greatest music today!
