Our TapSongz Team recently had the opportunity to catch up with Nina Browwn, an amazing vocalist. We had featured Nina several months ago and were recently able to reconnect on the artist's bright future including her upcoming release and recent trip to Croatia!
Nina is based in Toronto, Canada, but originally from Croatia. She loved music growing up and had plenty of influences along the way. "Definitely artists such as Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey, Alicia Keys, Aaliyah to name a few are some of my influences because I grew up listening to them and have such admiration and respect for them because of their vocal ability first off and secondly because in my mind, they encompassed the true meaning of what an artist should be like...a perfectionist of their craft and always striving for greatness," Browwn told our team.
Fast forward to today and Browwn continues to hone in on her sound and improve her music each and every day. "I have come out of my shell and my sound has changed to reflect that. My music is more of 'me' now as compared to the previous project and I have been getting a lot of great feedback from people saying that the new sound is definitely more fitting to me as a person and an artist."
As for next steps, Nina will be releasing a follow up single called "Blame" in October of this year and the full project will be released in January 2019, which will be an eight track album. Browwn's recent remix of "Where Did You Come From" is outstanding, her vocals really on point and you can hear the new style and energy that she mentions. Nina is filming the video to the remix this week, which will be great to have visuals for the track! She'll also be working on a video for her new single "Blame" so there is no doubt the rising vocalist is keeping busy. We can't wait to hear "Blame" and check out the video once released this fall!
Looking ahead, Nina has big plans for 2019 including tours in the spring and summer including a European and Caribbean tour. "I am also looking to collaborate more with a few artists from Jamaica as well as one from Australia which I am very keen to work with. The European market is definitely one which will be a focus of mine for 2019 and I hope to be out there more," Browwn told our TapSongz Team. We think it is awesome that Nina is able to collaborate with artists all over the globe and isn't limited to just Canada and the U.S.
Nina was recently able to gain more exposure doing two shows in Croatia, one on the island of Krk and one on the island of Vis. "I have never performed there before, but it was amazing being able to perform in the country of my birth. It was really beautiful to see people embrace me the way that they did and they really seemed to love the music." Having recently been to Croatia it is so cool to see Browwn expanding her horizons and building a fan base across the world. Browwn also has plans for performances in September and October at venues in Toronto so be on the lookout if you are in the area!
2018 was a breakout year for many artists including Marshmello, LAUV, and Khalid. Pop music and singer songwriters continue to thrive in the current music industry setting. We can't wait to see what Browwn is able to accomplish in the new year and encourage all viewers to follow her SoundCloud and social media to stay up to date with her upcoming projects! Here at TapSongz, we thank you for reading this feature article as we continue finding tomorrow's greatest music today!
