Add an Odesza Concert to your bucket list immediately. It had been roughly a year since our TapSongz Team covered Odesza's show in Madison, Wisconsin. Last year the show sold out just before the show as fans were obsessed with their hit track "Say My Name". But Odesza's show on Sunday night at the Orpheum in Madison was on a different level. Tickets sold out instantly and resale prices for tickets were off the charts as fans anticipated something special. The concert was arguably the highest demanded ticket so far this semester and for a good reason.
The EDM duo was accompanied by Jai Wolf and Rufus Du Sol, both outstanding warm ups. Jai Wolf has recently blown up in the electronic world, especially after releasing "Indian Summer" on Odesza's label Foreign Family Collective. He also has a killer remix to Skrillex's "Ease My Mind", which has reached nearly four million plays on SoundCloud. Jai Wolf and Rufus Du Sol were perfect additions to compliment Odesza's unique sound that fans have grown to love so much.
Odesza took the stage around 10:00pm. The next 75 minutes were spectacular. Much of the show was driven by the duo's second album "In Return", which was released just over a year ago. Most music fans will agree that an artist's music is better live and Odesza proved they were no different. The light show was unbelievable with constant flashing lights of purple, pink and orange shooting across the venue, representing their popular album cover. The Seattle two-piece played their hot originals including "Bloom", "Koto", "Sun Models", "It's Only" and "All We Need". But they also into some of their popular remixes that really got fans going. Their signature remix "Waited 4 U" by Slow Magic is tough to put in words, featuring a killer drop that sent every single pair of hands into the air. Odesza also played their remix to ZHU's "Faded", which bumped heavy base.
Another pleasant surprise was hearing Odesza's latest tracks from the release of their Deluxe Edition, which came out in September. These tracks included "Light" featuring Little Dragon and "IPlayYouListen". Midway through the show the duo busted into "Say My Name", sending fans into a frenzy. The scene was magical and every person leaving the venue at the end of the night was in awe. I heard nothing but good things surrounding Odesza's live experience and I don't see why I would hear anything different.
With so many shows of their North American tour already sold out, we suggest purchasing overpriced tickets in the secondary market because well, it's just worth it. Click here to see Odesza's remaining tour dates and cop your tickets fast!
