Marlon Carbajal, who goes by artist name Progress Able, is a hard working young artist with a deep passion for creating new music. The rapper can do a little bit of everything and our TapSongz Team had the chance to dig deeper into the young musician's career. He is from New Jersey which has had a good impact and influence on his music. "The Hip-Hop scene in Jersey is crazy," Progress Able said. "The east side is where it all started so you can only expect the fiercest competition. Being from out here has made me keep my lyrics fresh and original."
The majority of Progress Able's lyrics are from personal experiences, but when it comes to certain topics, he will use metaphors or something greater. His lyrics are as creative as his artist name "Progress Able". "When it comes to my stage name it's just 'Progress' but I wanted an artist name with a complete first and last name," he told our TapSongz Team. "And I wanted both names to represent characteristics and traits that I strive for everyday. Progress: to move forward and gain ground. Able: having the ability to accomplish or do ones task."
Progress Able no doubt has a way of words. Our TapSongz Team first came across the aspiring Hip-Hop artist when we heard his track "Down", which was produced by Chuki. The song was beautifully crafted, very catchy and perfectly displays the full potential of Progress Able. "I wanted to make a song that could serve as a mantra, or give inspiration to people with a goal in mind," Progress Able said.
It has already been a busy start to the summer. Progress Able dropped a fresh track "Danger Zone", an awesome track with a couple of features from Sonnik and Sweet N Low. The track, along with his single "Down", will be a part of a brand new mixtape that Progress Able is working on titled "The Recap". He hopes to drop the project at the end of the summer. Through the summer, the young rapper is hoping to do a lot more shows and get his music heard.
