Our TapSongz Team continues to search all over the internet for fresh new music and rising artists. Roger Roy Fournier fit the bill after listening to some of his latest tracks. We had the opportunity to interview the musician who has a true talent and loves sharing new projects.
Roger is originally from Lyndonville, Vermont, but currently lives in Eatonton, Georgia. “I first started music in the 8th grade playing in a rock cover band at school dances and talent shows. When I turned 18 I joined an 80’s rock band and toured the New England states playing the night clubs,” Roger said. Growing up, Fournier’s favorite artists included Keith Whitley, Merle Haggard, and Charlie Pride. He turned is inspiration into real music and never looked back.
Fournier has kept busy and recently released an 11 track project on Spotify. “I teamed up with Studio Pros producer out of Los Angeles Ethan Rose. I wanted to use Pro Studio Artists and Musician to best represent songs I’ve written so I can present them to the Nashville Country Market,” Fournier told our TapSongz Team. At this point, Roger has no plans to tour as his main focus is to continue writing new songs and getting better at this unique craft. “I traveled and played bass guitar for a group I formed based out of Virginia Beach, Virginia back in the 90’s. We traveled mainly the east coast circuit playing the top country clubs across the country and opening up for over 50 country national acts.” With so much experience under his belt and a new drive to create music for his fans, Roger is definitely on the right path.
If he could collaborate with one artist, the answer was simple for Roger. Cole Swindel. “I love his music and the way he writes and crafts songs. I relate to this style very well. Jason Aldean as well,” Roger said. He notes how the country scene is different now than the scene he grew up with, but there is certainly room for all sorts of artists to hit the main stage and become big. “So good to have different artists with different styles so it’s not the same ole, same ole.”
We encourage all of our viewers to give Roger Fournier’s music a listen! Toss him a follow on Twitter to stay up to date with his latest releases! You will not be disappointed! We can’t wait to hear more music from the songwriter and musician in the near future!
