A homegrown favorite Prof took the stage in Minneapolis at 2:30pm, getting the entire crowd active early in the afternoon. Fans loved hearing a Minnesota native rap some of their favorite songs. He energized the crowd for the rest of the day. Prof ended his set with a bang by being the captain of a blowup boat and was helped up by thousands of fans. He cruised his way around the crowd and landed back on stage right before Trippie Redd came onstage.
"Big 14", also known as Trippie Redd, came wout with the sun blazing down on the crowd. The rising star performed many of his fan-favorites, including "Dark Knight Dummo" and the crowd was singing to every verse with him in unison. DMX took the stage with authority around 3:30pm Sunday afternoon. Coming out with an old-school Randy Moss Vikings jersey had fans immediately stoked for the set. Let's just say DMX got the party started in here. The crowd was rowdy and loving every moment of the artist performance. DMX swung by the Atmosphere & Friends stage to catch the up and coming artist YBN Cordae. This young performer was extremely entertaining as he would cut the track and spit rhymes faster than ever.
Next up was the amazing substitute performance from Lil Nas X and DaBaby after Lil Uzi Vert notified SoundSet last minute that he would have to cancel his set. Lil Nas came out with a fashionable country outfit to perform his hit that has taken the world by storm. The crowd saddled and enjoyed the ride with Lil Nas X as he took everyone down "Old Town Road". As Lil Nas X currently only has this one sonog released, fans thought his show may be over early. However, he will soon be known for more than the one-hit wonder as his new EP will be coming out soon. He gave fans a little sneak peek into what his new EP is all about. The track from the new project was a banger and showed how versatile this young artist is. Exiting the stage with fans wishing his whole EP would be dropped that day, DaBaby got the festival rocking with his own hits "Surge", "Going Baby", and "Baby Sitter". He even parted the crowd and entered himself, walking up and down while rapping throughout the afternoon.
Fast forward to the clean cut, stylish G-Eazy. The man from Oakland expressed how much love he has for Minnesota and how it was one of his favorite places to play. We remember seeing G-Eazy perform at SoundSet years ago when he was first promoting his album "These Things Happen". Five years ago Gerald had performed as an opening act at the festival, but the California rapper has completely blown up since. G-Eazy rapped many of his hit songs, but made sure to please his day one fans by playing "Stay High" with a surprise guest appearance from Mod Sun. The crowd loved the duos act, but G-Eazy was not yet done with his surprises. He brought out Timberwolves star forward, Karl Anthony Towns to help him sing "No Limit". The crowd was in shock with the whole performance and loved the two amazing guest appearances that G-Eazy provided.

There was one moment that SoundSet fans were waiting for all day and that was the arrival of rap legend Lil Wayne. Nobody was let down by his performance as all of the hype was well worth it. Wayne rapped features from "The Motto" and "HYFR", before bringing people full circle and rapping "Mona Lisa" and "Uproar" from the Carter V. Of course, he brought the house down performing "A Milli". Fans could not get enough of his performance and nobody wanted to leave the beautiful Minnesota State fairgrounds.
