Here at TapSongz, our team is devoted to finding talented artists who deserve more exposure in the music industry for their hard work and efforts! We have been contacted and reached out to many different artists from a variety of genres. We believe that talented artists should be rewarded for their hard work so our team will continue to post articles on many different artists to give you the inside scoop on what is going on in the music industry!
This week we had the opportunity to interview Storm Boyer, a young hip-hop artist born in New Jersey and came from Ohio to Los Angeles. He began rapping when he was nine and would constantly write songs for school and entertainment. Storm Boyer, who just goes by Storm, grew up with a lot of idols in the music industry. “I listened to a lot of artists but I would say Kanye West, Run DMC, Beasty Boys and Kriss Kross started my musical journey,” Storm told our TapSongz team. Later on in his career, he was also able to meet Kurtis Blow, who founded Run DMC and really shaped Storm’s entire outlook on hip-hop. Many listeners say that Storm’s music is a combination of Kid Cudi, B.o.B., and Big Sean.
So far in his career, Storm has posted a lot of music on his SoundCloud page, which is linked at the bottom of the article. He is currently in the process of completing his first mixtape, which is set to drop in August. Storm has also been working on a music video that will be released soon. He has already done many live performances and will be opening for Dru Hill on June 28th this summer! “My favorite city to perform is LA! There is so much excitement and energy,” Storm said. One of his favorite songs to perform is “Outerspace”. “The song is a story and journey for the listener to be able to go off into space and feel the excitement of the unknown,” Storm told our team.
While Storm has already made great progress in the hip-hop industry, he has goals set in place to keep pushing his rap game to the next level. “I hope to release an EP in the near future and be on tour, eventually making a deal with a big label,” Storm said. Along the way, there is no doubt that Storm has enjoyed the ride. “Being able to tell my story and move the crowd in a way that they never have is my favorite part. I want to take them on a journey and entertain them so they play my music over and over,” Storm added.
Storm is currently working with Rockmore ENT and a variety of artists. With a unique sound and catchy beats, we encourage all of our viewers to give his songs a listen on SoundCloud! We have also posted links to Storm’s Facebook and Twitter so you can keep up with the latest on the up and coming artist! Here at TapSongz, we hope you have enjoyed this feature article as we continue finding tomorrow’s greatest music today!
