Our newest feature article pertains to an artist out of Toronto, Canada, by the name of Wajed Noori, or commonly known by his stage name “Whizzzy”. This singer and songwriter is originally from Kabul, Afghanistan, and aspires to take the music industry by storm with his music and entertaining skills. From a young age, Noori always dreamed of becoming a global sensation, saying, “The interest of being a musical hero and savior to the world has always been in mind, in fact since the age of 10,” said Noori. Whizzzy does not lack confidence in his musical talent, and this self-belief is what could ultimately propel his career into the next level. His main musical inspirations are some of the most iconic musicians and bands, including Michael Jackson, Johnny Cash and The Beatles. Whizzzy also stated that he also draws musical inspiration from current pop heavyweight and icon Justin Bieber. Whizzzy believes that his upbringing in a music-loving family gave him a tremendous advantage is developing his musical style. Noori stated, “I am from a musical family with a lot of knowledge and experience with music theory, live music, studio music and music as a whole, so I’ve been taught a lot growing up. By taking advantage of my family’s musical background, I’ve gotten to know how to properly play the keyboard, piano, guitar, acoustic drums and some African/Arabic/Afghan hand drums”.
Whizzzy does not have any albums or EP’s currently, but he is hard at work on his first professional project, which will be an EP that consists of all of his own material. He is also planning on releasing a professional single and music video in the near future. Although he does not have any current projects released, he does have many videos on his YouTube channel that showcases his musical talent. These videos consist of Wajed’s performances at birthdays, engagements, and weddings. Whizzzy also has original remakes of songs on his SoundCloud channel as well. If potential listeners enjoy the musical style of Justin Timberlake, Usher, or Michael Jackson then give Whizzzy a listen, as he describes himself as resembling those prolific artists. This aspiring artist possesses tremendous passion for his craft, stating, “For me, it’s a non-stop process of believing, feeling and thinking. I just want to change the world with music, make peace with all, and show and spread love to all”.
